Properties : En 8 is a very popular grade of through hardening unalloyed medium carbon steel. It is easily machinable and can also be surface hardened. It possesses good tensile strength. Available in drawn / turned , hot rolled , in round bars , squares , flats , hexagons and plates.

Applications : It is used where better properties then mild steel is required. EN8 is used for most general engineering applications like manufacturing shafts , studs , nuts , bolts , screws, connecting rods , rollers etc. This steel is also used in forging large blocks.
