Typical Analysis : C 0.35 - 0.45 ; Mn 0.5 - 0.8 ; Si 0.1 - 0.3 ; Cr 0.9 - 1.4 ; Mo 0.2 - 0.4

Properties : This grade of steel has high tensile strength , in combination with good shock resisting qualities , ductility along with high wear  resistance.

Applications : Since it has good impact properties it is suitable for a variety of elevated temperature applications. Popular in case hardening products. It can also be nitrided to get maximum wear and abration resistance. Flame & induction hardening can be done on this steel.  Suitable for gears , nuts , bolts , studs etc where high tensile strength is required.
