Properties:  It is an excellent steel with high wear resistant properties. Good Machinibility & dimensionally stable during heat treatment makes it popular for general production tools

Applications: 

        a)   Heavy duty blanking, piercing & punching  dies, including progressive & compound dies. Also used extensively for cutters, punches & shearing blades.

        b)   Good performance in wood working tools & reamers.

        c)   This steel is further used in thread rolling dies & punches, flanging & beading dies, deep drawing & impact extrusion of steel & light metal alloys, punches & dies for cold nut manufacturing, master hobs for plastic moulding dies, knurling tools, wire drawing dies, mandrels, hammers & reducing dies.

        d)      Gauges & wear resistant tools & parts: This grade of hchcr is also used in manufacturing various   gauges and measuring tools, press tools, guide bars, sleeves & liner plates in machine manufacturing.

        e)   Plastic Moulds :  This steels ability to be dimensionally stable during heat treatment & good finish makes it a popular choice for hardened & high production plastic moulds.

        f)   Hot Work : Used as hammers to forge hard or high alloy steels, Small hot rolls, & hot drawing rings
