Typical Analysis:  C 0.95 ;  Mn 1.0 ;  Cr 0.5 ; W 0.6% ; V 0.1 ; Si 0.3

Properties: This steel has good machinability, it is safe in hardening with uniformity, minimum shrinkage & warpage, excellent ability to keep a sharp cutting edge, good toughness with good wear resistance.

Applications: Used extensively for threading tools like machine taps, milling cutters, reamers, precision shaping knives, woodworking tools. Also used in die plates & punches , high production cutters, & roller dies. All types of gauging tools like check plugs , blades, angle blocks, etc. are also made from this steel. It is also very popular for plastic moulds.
